Free excursion or incursion for OES VCE students about outdoor careers
OV is partnering with all Victorian Universities and TAFE/RTOs that offer outdoor leadership and outdoor education courses to bring you a free excursion or incursion about outdoor careers. Lecturers and teachers from your local institutions will deliver these sessions. The session covers the following content from unit 2, outcome 1:
Key Knowledge:
- Understandings of vocational perspectives of outdoor environments, including at least two of the following:
- Outdoor leading and guiding
- Education

Invite Outdoors Victoria to Your Careers Event
Outdoors Victoria is passionate about supporting young people to explore meaningful careers in the outdoor sector. We regularly attend careers expos, school events, and community showcases to promote pathways into outdoor education, recreation, and related industries.
If you are a school, careers counsellor, or local council hosting an event and would like to include Outdoors Victoria, we would love to hear from you.





How to invite us:
Please get in touch via our website or email with details of your event, including the date, location, audience, and format. We will do our best to attend in person where possible.
If we can’t attend in person:
When OV staff are unavailable, we work closely with our network of Affiliates and industry representatives to support your event. This may include:
- Outdoor education and recreation business owners
- Current students or recent graduates
- Outdoor practitioners and guides
- TAFE and university educators
These representatives bring valuable, real-world insights and can speak directly to career pathways and experiences in the sector.
Resource support for your event:
If we are unable to attend and cannot source a suitable representative, we can provide a careers resource package for your event. This package is designed to equip careers counsellors and educators with the tools and information needed to confidently speak with students about:
- Training and study pathways
- Career opportunities across the outdoor sector
- Industry insights and progression options
We are committed to ensuring students have access to accurate, inspiring, and practical information about careers in the outdoors, regardless of our ability to attend in person.
