This workshop complements the Naturally Connected – Introduction to Forest Therapy presentation by Dr Liz Cyarto. Participants will be guided by Susan and Liz to experience elements of a Forest Therapy walk on the grounds of Federation University.
About the Presenter

Dr Liz Cyarto is a health expert who continually initiates innovative wellbeing programs to change people’s lives for the better. She is the first certified Forest Therapy Guide in Hobsons Bay City Council. Her guided Forest Therapy walks improve social connections and deepen appreciation of western Melbourne’s natural beauty and stewardship.

Susan Joachim is the President and Founding Member of the International Nature and Forest Therapy Alliance (INFTA). With over two decades of experience, Susan has been a key figure in education, women’s empowerment, and life-long learning at national and international levels.
As President of INFTA, Susan is committed to advancing Nature and Forest Therapy as a preventive and therapeutic public health practice. She advocates for Forest Therapy as a cost-effective solution to combat lifestyle diseases and rising mental health concerns, leveraging her expertise to promote its accessibility. Susan envisions a future where doctors prescribe “green prescriptions” for guided forest sessions.
