Professional Development (PD) plays a vital role in strengthening the outdoor sector, supporting educators, activity providers, practitioners, and emerging leaders to build skills, confidence, and best practice. At Outdoors Victoria, our commitment is to deliver high-quality, relevant, and accessible PD that supports the continued growth of our sector and fosters safe, meaningful, and enriching outdoor experiences across the state.

The 2026 PD strategy focuses on three key areas:

• First, we will continue delivering VCE OES and OES-specific online and in-person workshops to support teachers delivering Outdoor Education at all levels.
• Second, we aim to further develop our online library of recorded workshops, featuring expert presenters from across the sector. These resources are designed for outdoor professionals, program directors, activity providers, facilitators, and students seeking flexible learning options.
• Finally, we plan to expand the visibility of professional development opportunities across Victoria by promoting high-quality courses delivered by organisations throughout the state, ranging from first aid and technical skill development to leadership and facilitation training.
