Climbing Governance Review and Recommendations EXECUTIVE SUMMARY*

The purpose of this Climbing Governance Review and Recommendations document is to present findings from a consultation process that was initiated after a need was identified by Victorian climbing organisation representatives that there is a need to improve the governance and representation of outdoor recreational climbers. This document contains analysis of the benefits and challenges of recommendation implementation options and ultimately recommends an option that will be the most effective and sustainably structured model to best meet the needs of the broader climbing community in Victoria.

The next step in the process is to initiate the implementation of the recommendations, however before this occurs we would like to ensure that the Victorian climbing community has an opportunity to have any questions or concerns addressed via a public meeting.

Public Meeting Registration – a call for questions or queries from the Victorian Climbing Community
At the end of this you will find a surveymonkey link that can be distributed to the Victorian climbing community along with the final review and recommendations document and a summary document. This link can be used to register for the public Zoom meeting and to send us any questions or queries you would like to be addressed in the meeting (meeting details below).

A public meeting via Zoom on – Thursday 8th July 2021 from 7pm to 8pm
This will be an opportunity for the Victorian climbing community to hear about the process that has occured to date with the Climbing Governance Review, and to have any questions or queries addressed. Interested parties can register their attendance via the survey link below. This link is open now and will be open for registration until 5pm on the 27th June 2021.
