Restrictions will be eased for the majority of Victorians in regional areas from this coming Thursday (September 9) at midnight.
All regional Victorian areas aside from the Greater Shepparton region will have their travel distance restriction removed and restaurants and cafes are allowed to open with caps on numbers. Schools will be open for students in Prep to Grade 2 and Year 12.
The only change for metropolitan Melbourne is that single parents can now access childcare regardless of whether they are an authorised worker or not.
Authorities have reshuffled the numbers, anticipating reaching the 70 per cent first-dose vaccination threshold for Victorians aged 16 and older by around September 19.
